Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request under its own policy. We do not keep or log those query terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained so our team can answer it. We do not disclose the message outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical information whenever a visitor loads a page:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help show how the site is used, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic information. A browser can block cookies, though disabling them may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Clarke County Court Docket does not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of case records. It publishes general directions to the Clarke County Circuit Clerk, the Circuit and District Courts, municipal custodians, Probate Court, and Alabama case-access systems. Alabama Rule of Judicial Administration 33 governs AOC electronic data while preserving lawful clerk-office inspection. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure practices control any information submitted to those tools. Review the provider's policy before entering a query because this policy does not govern that transaction.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, clerks, Alabama case portals, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate those tracking systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect collected information. No internet system is fully secure, however, so protection against every possible breach cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Information believed to have come from a minor can be requested for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional rights concerning personal data. Alabama's Public Records Law, including Alabama Code sections 36-12-40 through 36-12-47, concerns access to government records and does not turn this private site into a court-record custodian. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. A revised version will appear here with its new effective date, so visitors can review current data practices.
Effective date: August 13, 2026
